RunCoachSync help
Short answers for the questions we hear most. If yours is missing, email contact@endurancebytes.io.
Why does my Apple Watch workout not appear in the plan?
RunCoachSync matches Apple Health workouts to plan days by date and duration. Wait until the Watch workout has finished syncing to the Health app, then pull to refresh the workout list to trigger a re-scan. If more than one run could match, the app will ask you to confirm.
How does Apple Watch fit in?
RunCoachSync is built around the Apple Watch Workout app. Structured plan workouts schedule there, with live pace, heart rate, cadence, and interval cues on the wrist. Finished Watch workouts sync to Apple Health, then match back to the plan day.
Does it sync to Garmin, Coros, or Samsung?
No. Wrist sync is Apple Watch. If another brand writes a run into Apple Health, that run may still help with matching, but the app will not send the workout to that watch.
What is a fitness checkpoint?
A mid-plan time trial that measures whether you are on track for your goal. If you accept the result, upcoming paces retune from that trial. Dynamic Training feature.
What is a Race Journey?
A multi-phase program built backward from your race date: base, build, then race-specific work. Set the date and distance and the app sequences the phases. This is part of Dynamic Training.
What is Sick Mode?
A Dynamic Training feature that pauses the plan while you are ill, stops missed-run reminders, and then builds a return ramp. It is training guidance, not medical advice. See a clinician if you are unsure whether you should run.
How do shoes work?
With Dynamic Training you can add pairs, look up a model, track miles remaining, and get a suggestion for which shoe to wear on a session. The catalog is based on common brands and shoes, milage is an estimate based on shoe type.
I missed a workout. What should I do?
Open the missed day and log it. You can skip, mark it completed, or reschedule. Dynamic Training adds coach-style proposals: swap with another day, skip a week, mark a recovery week, or absorb the miss with an impact note.
How is readiness calculated?
From recent resting heart rate, HRV, and training load versus your rolling baseline in Apple Health. A score above 70 generally means you are recovered enough for quality work; below 50 suggests easy running or rest. Informational only. Dynamic Training feature.
How do I share a plan with a runner I coach?
Coach Mode (a separate one-time purchase) lets you create athlete profiles and share via iCloud. The runner accepts a CloudKit invitation and sees the plan under Managed Workouts. They still need their own Dynamic Training subscription for paid plan features on their device.
Do training plans guarantee a goal time?
No. Plans are personalized estimates. Results depend on fitness, health, consistency, sleep, nutrition, and conditions. Completing a plan does not guarantee a race-day outcome.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes local data. To remove iCloud-stored plans and settings: Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → RunCoachSync → Delete Data.
